The apostle Peter, on the day of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit started preaching to the Jews, few years after it spread to non-Jews, which are known as Gentiles. But this is not what Christianity is in this so-called modern world. One could say that it is now, more or less, as I have said, a geographical situation, countries that are called ‘Christian’, are grouped in two main streams, the Roman Catholics and the Protestants. So, some are Roman Catholics, some are Protestants, and because it happens that they are born or live in Scotland, France, Germany, or whatever other so-called Christian country, like that young man they are Christians because they are English! The phenomenon is that the majority of the citizens of those; so called Christian nations, do not know who Jesus reall... read more

Thus most people slotted in as Christians do not relate to Jesus or know Him, they even give Christ a bad name! Thus, we should go back to the origin of the Church age, when from the time Jesus began to call men to follow Him, they were called ‘disciples.’ A student has many masters (teachers) a disciple has only one. Thus, the disciples called Jesus - ‘Master’! ‘Rabbouni’ They had no other! He is the MASTER to all true Christian, their Saviour, their Lord, whom they revere and adore! and will be till the last one is called!
When Jesus left Nazareth to be baptised in the Jordan by John-Baptist, soon after he began His ministry, at first He started to call His disciples. It is written: ‘As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon calle... read more

Thus, to this very day, what is called Christianity started in Jerusalem with a big bang! On the first feast of Pentecost since the Lord’s ascension, the disciples of the Lord were filled with the Holy Spirit, and their enthusiasm attracted a crowd of people who wandered what had happened to them, for with great joy they were praising God so much so that people thought they were drunk. To cut the story short the apostle Peter stood up and told them what had happened to them and began to preach to the many people that gathered there, after listening to Him and all he said about Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, many believed in Jesus, it is written that. ‘Those who accepted the message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number on that da... read more

Therefore, to conclude what is written and introduce what will follow, let me quote the following. ‘For God (our Creator) so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.’ (John 3: 16-17)

People continue to bear the weight of sin and try to rid themselves from it by various rituals all depending on what God they worship for there are many gods, men have even corrupted the Cristian faith and put burdens on people burdens that Jesus Christ delivers completely and forever those that accept Him as their Saviour. Roman Catholics are taught to confess their sins constantly and never go any further and deal with priests, men that love to be in that position of power, thus they get to know all they can about their flock, and can subdue them to fear and uncertainty, no man on earth can forgive sins and wash away their stains! But, after two thousand years nothing has changed, the opposition to the preaching of the Cross, which is at the centre of the Gospel message, is mainly organised and promoted by what is called the establishment. I remember an instance that happened on a farm, often used by the principal of the College where I was a student, and later as a member of the faculty. It says that after few days of heavy rain, the ground was a bit too soft, yet the farmer with his son had to attend to things that were urgent! It was in the days when horses were still generally widely used. One morning, as they had to move things around, the cart that was pulled by two horses got stuck, trying hard to get the horses to do the impossible, they tried to help each working on the wheels, b... read more

We have shared thus far some wonderful stories of what conversion is and how the Holy Spirit lit a great fire, great conviction was generated by the power of the Holt Spirit, thousands were brought into the kingdom of God, coming out of death into life and from darkness into light, and from Satan to God! Few months after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which happened on the day of the Feast of Pentecost, ten days after Jesus was taken to heaven, this happened in Jerusalem the where the Church grew to five thousand souls. This obviously spurred the Jews to try and stop it. So, coming back to Saul of Tarsus, having now letters from the high priest giving him ‘carte-blanche’, to do what he wanted, left Jerusalem to go to Damascus! How can a puny man, with his minute intellect, know who he is dealing with? God in His power, His wisdom and mercy, can convert the worst of sinners, just as He can convert a self-righteous one, who is often seems to be the hardest to convert, into a servant of Christ and into a member of His great family! God has His plan and He is still working at it. The Holy Spirit as long as there remains a sinner to save will remain on earth to do it! The conversion of Saul of Tarsus, is an outstanding miracle, but all conversions are miracles, the Holy Spirit alone can bring such a change, but not all are as that of Paul, yet all point to the grace of God and His amazing love for lost undeserving sinners! I have a reason to stay with the apostle Paul, and mention what he also wrote to a young Pastor, Timothy, whom he knew from a very young age, he also knew his mother and grandmother. With time, as they worked together, Timothy became to him like a son, in his introduction to the first epistle, he wrote: ‘To Timothy my true son in the faith!’ What he mentions to him about his past will lead us later, to discover what he taught the people that he led to Christ, as a most faithful and dedicated apostle! This is what he writes: ‘I thank Christ Jesus my Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me faithful, appointing me to His service. One has to approach the Holy Scriptures with great humility. A passage I quoted in the previous Link, is a testimony to the grace of God and to the love which He and His Son, Jesus of Nazareth, have proved to be so deep, so real and unchanging. Although for centuries, even before Jesus was born into the world, they have suffered a lot of grief and insults from men before the flood; many years after, they got it from the Israelites, then from an untold number of Gentiles. All men have done and said about God and His Son have not altered their determination to save the elect and having done all, to replace this old polluted earth with a brand new one, in which God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit will dwell with men forever! Even so come Lord Jesus.

We are still living in the days of grace! for how long I do not know, because the teaching of the Lord is that a time will come, when the door of salvation will close and it will all end. Nowadays, people are convinced, due to the modern belief of a great majority is that all that we read in the Bible is not true, that God does not exist that the world has ever been and will be forever! But millions like the apostle Paul, like me and millions of other in this so-called modern age, have been touched by the Holy Spirit, converted and are immensely grateful to God, that Jesus, who was hated without a cause, is now alive, exalted, sitting at his right hand, and is soon coming again! The Cross of Christ, put an end to God’s favours and they also need to believe in Christ to be reconciled with God whom they have offended! I understand that Jesus was actually weeping aloud, ‘aux sanglots’as it is said in French. He was heartbroken. At Lazarus’ grave, He was moved to tears sharing human sorrows with many others! But outside Jerusalem Jesus was sobbing all on His own, for he alone knew its past and future. Previously He said: ‘O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you; you will not see me again until you see me until you say. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ (Matthew 23.37-39)

If the Jews are still under this curse because of their deep unbelief and what they have done to Jesus the Son of God! The Gentiles have not done better and they also still bear the curse, for in this spiritual state they remain separated from God, which is real death, cut off from the living God! It is obvious that having the Ten Commandments has not made any difference to the character of man, whether he be a Jew or a Gentile. I will just remind you of a couple of verses written to the Roman Christians which I mentioned before: ‘The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of men that suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known of God is plain to them, because God has made it plain... read more

This baptism is therefore a great blessing that God only gives to His sons, you cannot be a son of God of your own choosing, I have explained it fully in previous ‘Links.’ The apostle John states clearly that a true Christian is born again of the Holy-Spirit, by the will of God, and it goes deeper than that, for the apostle John says that every son of His, is ‘born of God.’ Humanly speaking we can say that only a child has his father’s genes, therefore, a son of God has God’s nature, pure sinless and eternal! This is tremendous, it deals with the new man that lives in every true Christian, this new creation is a newly created spirit! Because God cannot be seen, because He speaks in His own way and we cannot hear Him, faith can only come by a revelation given by the Holy Spirit, one cannot do it by working things out, by human wisdom followed by an act of what is called ‘free-will.’ Sinners have not got a free will, sin has mastered them, they need the Holy Spirit to wake them up to the truth of God, so that they can see the light of a new day! Faith demands yielding one’s life, to trust oneself completely to someone, GOD, who through the Holy Spirit, acting in Christ’s name lights up the darkness of man’s heart, things happen that one does not see, hear, or touch, yet the by the miracle of true faith renders them very real to the mind and the heart which is the source of all human feelings and sense! I could continue on this subject, but friends, whoever you may be, God says that it is: ‘Christ, who died for your sins.’ The apostle Paul thought it important to remind this very thing to Christians in Corinth, declaring ‘Now, brethren, I want to remind you of the Gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. Angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened Him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. (Luke 22: 41-43) By saying in his prayer, ‘This cup’ Jesus did not mean the Cross, for he knew before He came into the world that He had to face it.
