Anyone reading the verses I have quoted, may have problems to understand them fully and to take hold of such truths, this I understand fully, for I have experienced it in my own lifetime; but I have found that living in trust and faith in Christ, this assurance grew stronger with time. It is like a seed that is sown and seems to lie dormant, but it is there and watered by the Holy Spirit, it grows;I am now fully convinced that it is real and that I, as well as all who have been converted into a new man, by the power of the Holy Spirit, have received eternal life there and then, for God cannot lie, my salvation was secured and was real even before I was born, for it is written that: ‘ God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions! In the time predestined by the Almighty, it follows that believers in Christ will be resurrected to life eternal. 

On that day the trumpet will sound as it is written: ‘Brothers (and sisters!), we do not want you to be ignorant about those that are asleep, (this new man, created after Christ – does not die) or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him, According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still left (alive) till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord for ever! Therefore encourage each other with these words!(Thessalonians 4: 13-18) It is one of those passages of Scriptures that one cannot separate, together they add up to assure every believer in Christ, that there are no ifs, or may be! All is done, decided already, it is all a matter of timing. 

God alone knows the ‘when’ But it will all happen in the twinkling of an eye! The apostle Paul adds some details to this great truth and says: ‘Listen, I tell you a mystery: ‘We shall not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead (asleep in Christ) will be raised imperishable, and we (who will still live) will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to god! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm, let nothing move you.From this blessed assurance – certainty! (1 Corinthians 15: 51-58) How could I omit mentioning this glorious revelation of divine truths, which prove that in God’s economy, we who believe in Jesus Christ share in His life and victory, and are safe and saved forever! 

I do not invent anything, or state some personal ideas, changing the Gospel teachings! This is why I make a lot of statements written in the New Testament, the Gospel preached by Jesus Christ and the epistles written by His apostles. Divine truths that convinced me, and millions before me, and will after me, and believe in the reality of a complete assurance! I cannot hide that it has been tested many times, but after each time it only grew stronger, and it stopped me from looking to myself, but to Jesus Christ only, who loved me and gave himself for me! By being in Him, we are like Him! As says the apostle, Paul! For, I was one of those that people call ‘Arminian’? Jacobus Harmensen, whose surname was latinised into Arminius. He was a Dutch protestant theologian with views opposed to Calvin, especially on predestination which is a big nut to crack to many ministers of the gospel – predestination! An Arminian therefore is a Christian that does not believe in predestination! The apostle Paul, and those that wrote epistles included in the New Testament! including Jesus, our Lord, would be called ‘Calvinists’! People like slots, into which they can fit themselves and others, like a jigsaw puzzle, and the missing piece can only be found by faith, in what Jesus taught and His disciples!
