In September 1953 I landed on British soil. I was then nineteen years of age, and my destination was the I.B.T.I. (International Bible Training Institute) situated in Burgess-Hill, West Sussex. I did not realise when I arrived at the College, how my life was about to change for the better.

For the son of a coal miner - who himself came from Germany where he was born of Polish parents, it was a pure adventure. It is not surprising that when I reached fourteen years of age I also, by force of necessity, became a coal miner, following thus in the footsteps of all my ancestors. For a little lad of fourteen years of age, that had just left school, it was a terrifying experience. I shall never forget how I felt when I reached my place of work. One thousand metres underground, in total darkness and with just a little light to see me through an eight hour shift, it was horrible!

There and then I made up my mind to break away from this dreadful yoke that was placed on my Dad - as it had been on his father before him. It happened that with the unforeseen help of the Lord - a year after my first experience as a ‘galibot’ (an apprentice coal miner,) I started to work in a carpenter’s shop. I am so proud to have followed in the steps of Jesus, The Carpenter.

A few years later, at the age of sixteen, He touched my heart and I took Him as my Saviour, and my Master. Jesus Christ is all of that and more - He is my best friend! My life is closely tied up with that of my Lord. As I proceed with the development of this work, I want to use this website to explain all that Jesus is to me and what He has done in my life. I will show how He helped me through the fifty years I spent in preaching Him everywhere he led me. I shall mention more about my life and how the Lord Jesus used a little lad that He took from a horrible pit, and raised Him up to serve Him!

And it all started at the I.B.T.I. which was a launchpad into a terrific adventure!
