The apostle Peter, on the day of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit started preaching to the Jews, few years after it spread to non-Jews, which are known as Gentiles. But this is not what Christianity is in this so-called modern world. One could say that it is now, more or less, as I have said, a geographical situation, countries that are called ‘Christian’, are grouped in two main streams, the Roman Catholics and the Protestants. So, some are Roman Catholics, some are Protestants, and because it happens that they are born or live in Scotland, France, Germany, or whatever other so-called Christian country, like that young man they are Christians because they are English! The phenomenon is that the majority of the citizens of those; so called Christian nations, do not know who Jesus really is, nor do they associate themselves with Him.
To the Roman Catholics, Jesus is not often mentioned for their worship and conscious allegiance is mainly to Mary, the mother of God! How can God who is eternal, without beginning and without end, have a mortal mother? It makes no sense, but people believe it and pray to a dead woman, she surely was a special lady, for she brought our Saviour Jesus Christ into the world, but now, with a great company of saved people, she is in paradise, waiting with all the other souls for the resurrection, as promised by the Lord! I would venture to suggest that to remedy this anomaly, a real Christian in these days should be known as a disciple of Jesus Christ, as they were known originally. This would take us back to the origin of the Church, when from the time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which I mentioned, Jesus baptised a hundred and twenty disciples with the Holy Spirit, just as He promised!
It is Obvious that king David was a man who knew God well, and has known from childhood that he was cared for, he found that God was faithful and that He never let him down! Meditate on these points and do what He says, ‘Praise the Lord’ O my soul! All I have stated brings me to my first question, ‘who is a Christian’? If there is a man on this planet, that knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is a Christian, it is because God the Holy Spirit has changed him from within and create of him a new man. So, He sent Jesus his Son on a mission whom people, in Antioch, nearly twenty centuries ago heard his disciples, the Jews who were among those that received Jesus as Lord and believed in Him, they heard them speak so much about Jesus Christ, that they called them by His name ‘CHRISTians. Christ’s man.
They were a special bunch because they did something that a lot a people did not want to, as it is written: ‘To all that received Him, to those who believed in His Name (Jesus means Saviour) He gave the right to become children of God!’ (John 1: 12) As I mentioned before, Jesus came to the world but the world did not recognise Him, it is so up to this day, in fact the world is harder than ever; godless! It is also written that He came to His own people, he was a Jew among the Jews, but they did not receive Him! But these people, Christ’s people, did what millions have done since, they started preaching the Gospel, they received Him, they believed in Him, and it all starts here! What men do with Jesus determines who they are, Christians! These men and woman saw something that God only reveals to whom He wants, as it is written: ‘They saw His glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the (his) Father, full of grace and truth.’ (John 1:14) It still remains the only way, there has to be a change and the change only happens when one chooses to receive Jesus! As I have mentioned at the beginning of these ‘Links’, the word Christian is very ambiguous in our days. Generally, the way it is applied it is more as a cultural heritage. But that was not what a Christian was at the beginning, when Christ, the Son of God, was preached by His apostles! One could say that Christendom is now more or less a part of a geographical division of the world; there are countries that are called ‘Christian’! which are grouped in two main streams, the Roman Catholics and the Protestants.

My name is Edouard Jankowski and In September 1953 I landed on British soil. I was then nineteen years of age, and my destination was the I.B.T.I. (International Bible Training Institute) situated in Burgess-Hill, West Sussex. I did not realise when I arrived at the College, how my life was about to change for the better.
