No man could write things so correctly just of His own thinking! King David was a prophet and he was inspired by the Holy Spirit, as were all the other prophets through centuries, foretelling that the death of Christ was unavoidable, for without an atonement there was no other way to save men from sin and servitude to Satan, and get rid of Him forever! He had to die in our place so that we could be delivered from this awful curse, and a life in sin! Our human mind cannot fathom what it cost Jesus to leave heaven and come among a cruel and violent world and suffer so much, at the handsof corrupt men? Roman soldiers were without scruples or feelings, ‘blasé’, for they crucified men every day, not always for good reasons; but for this very purpose, Jesus came, to atone, and make amends for man’s sins, take his place and thus free him from all guilt. As it is written. ‘In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.’ (Hebrews 9: 22) How awful His death was we cannot imagine! yet, for this very purpose He came, so, He could not and would not avoid the cross, He willed to lay down His life, for the salvation of millions of people, from all nations, colour, and creed, depended on His willing sacrifice. ‘Jesus Christ died for our sins.’ (1Corinthians 15: 3) For a Christian to be convicted of sins, convinced of true pardon, cleansed from every stain of sin, are great blessings which follow true conversion, a true Christian, is a man changed from inside from a sinner into a true son of God! I must remind you that when the expression ‘man’ is used it means women as well. Man – men women – the whole of humanity.
David continues to describe the cross in psalm twenty-two withwords that were repeated exactly by Jesus when He was actually nailed to the cross, and said: ‘Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. Roaring lions tearing their prey open their mouth wide against me. It is all figurative language showing how evil men can become, like wild animals and worse, such men are still present in the world today, men past feelings, demons! ‘I am poured out like water and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me. My strength is dried out like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs have surrounded me; they have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones; people stare at me and gloat over me. They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing!’ (Psalm 22: 12-18) This is exactly what happened at Calvary. If you have a Bible, read the Gospels, it is all there. As you read it you will find that the writers, expressing it plainly, for if it were not been for Calvary, no man would escape from the wrath of God and from the lake of fire.
Satan knows a lot but not everything! It appears that he did not know that the death of Jesus, whom he hated so much, was going to bring his demise? He was allowed to approach Jesus and tempt Him, after He fasted for forty days in the wilderness of Judea, he tried it with physical needs and spiritual pride, but if he duped Adam and Eve, he did not do so with our Lord, who triumphed over him and left the desert victorious. Yet, it is written that: ‘When the devil finished all his tempting, he left Him until an opportune time!’ (Luke 4: 13) There, Satan had the opportunity to use all his craft to overcome Jesus. Three years later came Gethsemane, the garden Jesus loved to spend time with His disciples. We cannot imagine what Jesus went through just few hours before came into the garden, with his wild mob, Judas Iscariot the betrayer, and eventually, having bound Jesus, they took Him to Annas the High Priest. Annas was replaced many years before then by five of his sons, Caiaphas, his son in law was the official high priest. But to the Jews, who regarded that a high priest was a high priest to his death, although his office ended by a decree from the Roman Cesar, the Jews regarded Annas as their High Priest, who was still alive to take part in the condemnation of Jesus-Christ the Son of God!

My name is Edouard Jankowski and In September 1953 I landed on British soil. I was then nineteen years of age, and my destination was the I.B.T.I. (International Bible Training Institute) situated in Burgess-Hill, West Sussex. I did not realise when I arrived at the College, how my life was about to change for the better.
