Thus, to this very day, what is called Christianity started in Jerusalem with a big bang! On the first feast of Pentecost since the Lord’s ascension, the disciples of the Lord were filled with the Holy Spirit, and their enthusiasm attracted a crowd of people who wandered what had happened to them, for with great joy they were praising God so much so that people thought they were drunk. To cut the story short the apostle Peter stood up and told them what had happened to them and began to preach to the many people that gathered there, after listening to Him and all he said about Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, many believed in Jesus, it is written that. ‘Those who accepted the message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number on that day’. (Acts 2: 41) If you have a Bible, you can read the full story in the book of Acts.

Few days later after, at an entrance of the temple a tremendous miracle happened. Peter and John, with the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus, healed a crippled man from birth, well known by many, for he sat daily at the ‘Beautiful’ gate of the temple, asking for alms, the man was forty years old! This miracle eventually brought many people that believed and they joined the disciples, their number grew to five thousand. This displeased greatly the authorities, and it followed that a great persecution was organised against them which occasioned the scattering of the disciples/ It is written: ‘On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all, except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria! and beyond! (Acts 8: 1) I cut short this wonderful happening for it would take too long to write all of it, and I wanted to mention what occasioned this scattering! It shows what Christ meant to the men that believed, they were ready to suffer whatever to spread the Good News!

Those that were scattered preached the word, the good news about Jesus Christ wherever they went! The word that fits better their activity is ‘gossip’ they talked about Jesus when and how they could! So, in conclusion to all I have written in the previous ‘Links’ was to show that all that happened during Christ’s lifetime, who He was, the Gospel that He preached, the miracles that testified to His power and authority, His death and how He rose from the dead, things He said to the disciples showing Himself alive unto them, for on the third day God raised Him from the dead!  The truths He conveyed to them right up to His ascension are challenging men nowadays to believe in Him. It followed that the message spread mightily through the ministry of the apostles. Every utterance was willed and planned by God and fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ, who came specifically on earth to do His will. It was the apostle Peter that preached the first sermon to the crowd that was attracted by the effects of the outpouring, his sermon was the greatest ever preached, on that day a crowd of people heard him from which many believed, on that day they were added to the Church in Jerusalem! (Acts 2: 40-41)

So, to a lost world, enslaved by the devil, God to the present days, throws out a lifeline. In Jesus Christ and through Him, He provides, to all nations, a way out of corruption and condemnation into salvation. It is still the only one way from death to life as it is written: ‘Jesus (alive from the dead) appeared to the eleven as they were eating…and said to them: Go into all the world and preach the Good News (the Gospel) to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’ (Mark 16: 14-16) The one thing that comes out strongly from the preaching of Jesus Christ, shows that the preaching of the Cross is central to the message of salvation. There is only one way, as Jesus said: ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No-one comes to the father except through me.’ (John 14: 6) There is only One God, there is only One Saviour and there is only One Way! Preached by men anointed with the Holy Spirit it draws men to God up to this very day! A hymn has these words: ‘Kneel at the cross, Christ will meet you there; come while he waits for YOU!’ If you feel that your heart is touched then kneel now, repent from your sins, and accept Him into your life, and follow Him! There is no other way to get out from the mess that world is in, dead, cut off from Him, on the way to hell!
