History proves that generation after generation men have not change, unbelievers get worse and offend God more and more, idols are still idols and they still are as dead as they were centuries ago! Therefore, there is no positive way for man to get out of this situation. In days of old, people in their spiritual blindness, went as far as sacrificing their children to some idol-gods, they did it to pacify a bit of stone or metal, and spare things that have no feelingsfrom their wroth, they go to such ends to find forgiveness, but there is none! how could there be? This has left men with the idea that God is this monster; they have this fear of a statue that they carry around. The Christian knows Jesus as God, real and loving, who gave his life to atone for his sins and has proven that: ‘Perfect love casts out all fear.’ Only true Christians know this and rejoice in a full deliverance from sin and Satan! Jesus took sin on Himself to shed His own blood to rid us of condemnation and fear forever! True Christianity is a story of love and compassion that Jesus showed by His words and miracles of healings, and his deep compassion. The apostle Paul says: ‘Christ so loved me that He gave Himself for me’!

The worst of sins, is that Christianity, in these days of unbelief, is put in parity with every other religion that exist in the world, but no-one can alter the fact that Jesus alone, offers to every sinner, a hope of a change and deliverance from every sin and the fear that is attached to it! It is true that judgement upon sin will be very severe, but Jesus on the cross bore the judgment for every person that belongs to Him, that is not a supposition but a reality. I have already mentioned previously, that God took the initiative to save sinners and in Jesus Christ, His Son, made a way out of condemnation! That’s what salvation means, and as we ponder on it, we discover that it cost God an awful lot to saves men from the power of sin and its grip. But in His love, He was prepared to do it, and sent Jesus who willingly paid the penalty for their sins, and having done so, God justified in Christ everyone that will believe on Him! To deal with sin and eradicate it was the greatest problem that God ever encountered, but He did it, in His great wisdom He found a way that works, because nothing is impossible to Him! 

There was no word that he could speak to eradicate the power of sin! Therefore, He worked out a plan, The Holy Trinity, Father,Son, and Holy Spirit, now work together so that forgiveness of sin is given to every believer in Jesus Christ once and forever! I cannot expand on it for it is a very big subject, yet I have said a lot already, to prove that a complete deliverance from sin is possible. In that plan God had to send His Son Jesus Christ into the world to die for sinners. The Law (which includes the Ten Commandments) given to Israel through Moses, declares clearly that ‘without the shedding of blood there is not remission of sin.’ (Hebrews 9: 22) 

The passage I have quoted from Ephesians concerning the Jews, that ended with these words: ‘Like the rest (of the Gentiles) we (Jews) were (as them) objects of wrath.’ To it the apostle Paul addsthe following: ‘But because of His great love for us, (who have believed) God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved!’ (Ephesians 2: 4-5) The plan of God that I mentioned, when worked out, does not only forgive sins but it actually changes the whole man into a new creature, and fits him to live in His presence for eternity! Jesus came willingly to give His life and shed His blood to wash sin away, but more so, because He is now alive, while still on earth, all that believe in Him, are justified, and that means that God sees them as if they never committed a sin. A true Christian is convinced of the truth of his position before God, and he relies not on His feelings but on the word of God. Christians still sin, but it does not contaminate the new man that as child of God has become one of his eternal sons. Sin is of the body and is limited to it. ‘No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning because he has been born of God.’ (1 John 3: 9) What God has started He will complete. A Christian is born of the Holy Spirit, as such he has the sinless nature of Christ; on occasions he will disobey God, all disobedience is sin, attached to his flesh! As his life in Jesus developpes he will become stronger in Jesus and will not continue to disobey. The Holy Spirit acts in a Christian and will make him stronger, until the old life, with all its failings, is overcome. It is written: ‘How great is the love The Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are’! (1 John 3:1) So it is a done thing! and if God will not change that, who else can? The ‘conviction’ of a child of God rests on what the Heavenly Father has done to him and in him, through and in Jesus Christ!
