Therefore, to conclude what is written and introduce what will follow, let me quote the following. ‘For God (our Creator) so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.’ (John 3: 16-17)

An awful lot is said about the first of these few verses of: ‘God so loved the world!’ It is true indeed because He did, but the whole world is far from being saved! Human history shows that the majority of men from all nations are strangers to God, unbelievers, godless! They are children from past generations that refused to believe in Jesus Christ, and they do what did their fathers, and live as rebels, as Jesus said: ‘condemned already’! What it means is that what men do concerning Jesus of Nazareth, determines, decides their eternal future. I was also sinner as everybody else, I know the difference that faith in Christ did to me. So! My friend you also can be changed from a lost sinner into a child of God! How? By believing that Christ died for your sins! Thus, having stated plainly all that Jesus was and is now, I can begin to answer the question: I asked at the beginning: ‘Who is a Christian?

Firstly: a Christian, or a disciple of Christ, is a converted sinner. Every disciple of Jesus Christ has a past in which he lived in sin, in slavery to Satan, who is the ruler of the kingdom of darkness! Simply, in mentioning this, it should be enough for men to realise that to be freed from the power of sin and Satan, they need help from someone bigger than the devil and themselves. Jesus proved that His is able to save every slave of Satan because He is alive, risen from the dead, victorious, having defeated sin, death, and the devil He can also deliver you! The first disciples that Jesus called were also lost sinners like everyone else. They may have been Jews, with everything that it meant then, and still means to some degrees even today. Those that are Jews, whatever they feel, they still believe that they are: ‘superior to the Gentiles because they have received the Law, the ‘The Ten Commandments’ directly from God through Moses!

Being blind to the truth due to their prejudice, the Jews did not realise, just as they do not at present, that it was le very law, the Ten Commandments, which God did give to Moses on Sinai, which in the end condemned them and that they are hopelessly lost as is every other gentile, sinners that only faith in Christ can save from sin, death and the devil! Man has four enemies, the first is sin, this evil power rooted in us, masters us and condemns us for eternity. Satan, my friend, is this unseen power that is stronger than man and subdues everyone to his will! The third one is death called the last enemy, from which no man can escape, and the last is the law, the Ten Commandments, it is stated that from the early days of Irenaeus, people have described the Law of God as one of man’s greatest enemy. After trying approximately fifteen centuries, not one Jew justified himself, all have sinned and come short pf the glory of God! (Romans 3: 23)

For the law demanded complete righteousness, because man could not reach perfection through obedience to the ten commandments, yet the Law of God condemned him without mercy. For it is written: ‘The souls that sins, it shall die.’ It is a fact, that to this very day, man has not been able to reach the high standards set by the Ten Commandments, whereas the Gospel teaches that they were not given for that purpose. Yet humanity in general, is still trying to get better, if not perfect, by sticking to them but to no avail: ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Much of fallen Christianity has reverted to a law, often man-made, based on the ten commandments, but modified to their views of them.
