Man’s mental and spiritual corruption is described in the following passage of the Bible, it is written that: ‘The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of men that suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known of God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.’ (Romans 1: 18-19) These are facts, this is how God sees every sinner, thus we are told the reason why man is what he is. His present situation is what it was from the drama that took place in the Garden of Eden, where time began. Although God is invisible, He does speak to men, that is also a fact, it is as He says here, God is seen by the things that He has made, He is the creator of all things visible or invisible, and the power of creation is so strong and real, that men suppress it, they restrain, or put an end to it, this is how man’s will works, humanity is guilty of great ungodliness! According to the verses from the Bible written above, the Almighty has been revealing Himself to mankind right from the beginning. It is so real and so strong and personal, that men are left without excuse, not only because of what they see, but because according to the word of God, they have wilfully decided to ignore Him, and glorify Him!

More so, they have, ‘en bloc’, stood up against it, the Oxford dictionary says that ‘suppressing’, is to put it down, quell it, put a stop to its activity and existence, withhold or withdraw from publication, keep secret or unexpressed, refrain from mentioning it! That is exactly what men are doing to this very day, they suppress the truth about God as revealed by what He has made. One might have a very valuable painting, but if it is not signed by the painter, it is worthless. God says in this passage that he reveals himself to every man in the same way, through His creation, because God has signed His handy work, and it is by His power that it continues to be, He does so in every part of the world. Therefore, the condemnation is global and complete.’ For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God, nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.’ (Romans 1: 21-23)

To this general attitude God’s verdict is clear, He says that men have wilfully, in the light of all that is obvious and plain to see about Him, they rehoist Him , ‘en masse’ they deny Him the right to legislate His will, and would not glorify Him as their creator. The worst of it is, that each man to crown his rebellion, inspired by darkened mind, made his own god, utter folly, and worships and bows down to it. Idolatry is man’s greatest affront, an open insult to His creator, and yet, now, what is thought to be the great age of man’s cleverness and learning, all think that they know it all, with all that supposed enlightenment, every man is an idolator, for if one does not honour and worship God, he worships something or someone else, or himself.

Man has been made with the need to believe something and live by what he believes! It will not be long now, God will soon judge the whole wide world, as written in the book of Revelation, the last in the Bible. Now this general unbelief has its consequences and they are terrible, the corruption that sets in the heart of every human being, reveals itself in the following way! ‘Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised! Amen. (Romans 1: 24-25) The drama of it all is due to the fact that a humanised church, and other religions, have convinced mankind that God does not mean what taught Jesus and His disciples, and the verses I have quoted above are not believed! But men will discover that God is true and that His word is as eternal as He!
