I have written in the previous ‘Links’, all that I thought was necessary to establish the reasons why humanity is as it is. History proves that all generations have failed in their relationship with God, and that the heart of man is devious and corrupt; all the suffering that men have endured is due to sin, by which men are slaves to the devil, who by devious means, holds humanity in his power, from which it is impossible for men to get free! He trapped Adam and Eve, and all men, except those that are saved by faith in the Lord Jesus, share with them a painful treatment from this fallen archangel! Thus, to conclude this part of history we find most that generally humanity is lost, corrupt, rebellious, without hope and far from God, it is condemned already to an eternal hell, and lives in a world doomed, ripe for destruction. I have also felt that it necessary to establish who Jesus Christ really is. Firstly, He proved to be a man, and the reason for His coming into the world through a natural birth. The Gospel He preached, the miracles he performed, His relationship with men, His attachment to His disciples, and how and why He died! Secondly, as the Son of God, whom His Father raised from among the dead, triumphant over sin, death, and the Satan! A triumph that He now shares with all those that belong to Him. 

Before I begin to answer: 1. ‘Who is a Christian’. 2. ‘What is a Christian’. I need to quote some scriptures that perfectly express the Lord’s final verdict on man in sin and humanity at large!

‘The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over to the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurities for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is for ever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations to unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were enflamed with lusts for one another. Men committing indecent acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful, they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents, they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them!’ (Romans 1: 18-32) This covers mankind generally, Jews and Gentiles.

The apostle Paul wrote, what is a full description of the man’s moral condition in his days, hence, because human nature is what it is, it fits perfectly this generation and what God thinks of modern man and how He views the present situation in the world; in His eyes, it is a world that lives in this corrupt heritage which passed from one generation to the very present one; I believe that the state of the world is such that we could see the return of Jesus Christ to establish His reign over all nations! What the apostle Paul wrote that long ago, fits perfectly the state of the world today! The Bible could be the oldest book ever written but it is absolutely up to date!
