As soon as the Sabbath was over, and the sun rose, heralding a new day, two disciples decided to leave their gathering from the Upper Room, to go to Emmaus, a village, eleven miles from Jerusalem. As their journey unfolds, they will show perfectly what was the conclusion the apostles, and the rest of the disciples, arrived at, for these two disciples said to Jesus, who had joined them, as they walked together, completely unaware that they were talking to Jesus, risen from the dead! Because obviously they concluded with the rest of the disciples, that Jesus died and that was the end! So, they replied, in answer to His question; for He asked them what they were so intensely talking about. ‘About Jesus of Nazareth, they replied: He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified Him; but we had hoped that He was the ONE who was going to redeem Israel. What is more, it is the third day since all this took place.’ (Luke 24: 19: 21) In fact they were hoping to the very end that Jesus would set up His promised kingdom! Little did they know that they were in for a big surprised. Halleluiah!
I have dwelt on these historical facts long enough, but I felt that I had to, because what people think of Christ today is a grave sin, in its full destroying power. The world was anti God in the days Jesus Christ was on earth, and now, it is as corrupt as it was in the days of Noah! but I won’t enlarge on that statement now, but I will as I continue this study. The disciples of The Lord Jesus felt all the power of the exceptional love of the risen Lord, as it is written: ‘After His suffering he showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, He gave them this command: ‘Do not leave Jerusalem but wait for the gift my Father promised which you have heard me speak about. For John baptised with water, but in few days, you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit. So, when they met together, (on the Mount Olives – on the day of His ascension) They asked Him: ‘Lord, will you at this time going to restore the kingdom of Israel? (for they told them that He would return) He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times and dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and to the end of the earth, and in all Judea and Samaria. (Acts 1: 3-8) I have typed these few verses for they are very important for the Church of Jesus Christ in our days, for they are the last words He said to them before His ascension. He left a command to them, similar of a General rallying his troops. It is the baptism with the Holy Spirit that is disregarded by most of the Church of Christ, I shall return to it later.
Many disciples have not seen Jesus alive until they gathered on the Mount of Olives. It is not written, but I think that it is obvious that it was not by chance that they were all present, for Jesus did want them there for a vital purpose, not only to hear his last words and command, but to witness His ascension! For it is written that: ‘That after He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight! They were looking intently up into the sky.as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them ‘Men of Galilee’ they said, ‘Why do you stand here looking to the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven. (Acts 1: 9-11) Now, this experience is so divine that I feel that I am there, it is so captivating, sadly, so much of it is forgotten, and hardly mentioned nowadays, most Christian do not know much about the return of the Lord to rapture His Church to heaven, nor how near we are to His return! After all this excitement, according to the orders they received from Jesus, they all returned to Jerusalem, with the words which the two heavenly visitors said still ringing in their hearts!

My name is Edouard Jankowski and In September 1953 I landed on British soil. I was then nineteen years of age, and my destination was the I.B.T.I. (International Bible Training Institute) situated in Burgess-Hill, West Sussex. I did not realise when I arrived at the College, how my life was about to change for the better.
