There on that day, in the Garden of Eden, the horror of death became so real. God sacrificed animals to cover their nakedness, and atone for their sin, because for obeying the lies of Satan, they lost their holy garment of light, which was the glory of a spotless, sinless life, and it disappeared died in a second! This happened four thousand years before Jesus was born, and the covering God made for Adam and Eve, symbolised Christ’s death on the cross, where: ‘He died for our sins according to what was prophesied in the Scriptures.’ (1 Corinthians 15: 3). - ‘For without the shading of blood there is no remission of sins!’ (Hebrews 9: 22) 

Two perfect persons, enjoying daily communion with God their creator, were deprived of their Lordship over God’s world, and surrendered it to Satan, who could say to Jesus when he tempted Him, after forty days of fasting in the Judean desert, it is written that: ‘The devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And said to Him: I will give you all their authority, and splendour, for it was given me, (on a plate by Adam when he ate of the forbidden fruit) and I can give it to anyone I want to. So, if you worship me, it’s all yours. Jesus answered: It is written: you will Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only. The world was not enough, Satan wanted all the universe, but although Jesus did not dispute the fact that all nations were/are in his power, He defeated Him, and soon He is coming back to take the rule over the world, as Lord and King for a thousand years!

So, Jesus fulfilled what has been promised by His Father there in Eden, and so, all true Christians have a great big Brother in Heaven, a glorious Saviour, victorious, sitting at the right hand of our wonderful loving Father, and from there, when the Holy Spirit has completed His work, we’ll hear the trumpet, and Jesus will come to take His people to their home in heaven. It is written that this will happen in the twinkling of an eye, when we least expect it! Everything that happens in the world presently, shows that Jesus is coming for His Church very soon! And these first Christians, called and assembled by the Lord Jesus-Christ, during the three and a half years of preaching the Gospel, were witnesses to all these glorious facts! From the cradle to the grave, for Mary His mother was also there, she stood by the cross on which He died, she saw Him also when her son Jesus appeared alive from the dead. The touch of God, and His grace made all His disciples a select company, for it is only to them that Jesus chose to show himself alive from the dead. Christians should be ecstatic to be a living part of this amazing, eternal people, raised by the Lord, to share eternity with Him. 

I am now returning to the appearances of Jesus alive to His disciples, for it is written ‘On the evening of that day, the first of the week, for as I have said it, God chose to reveal Jesus alive from the dead only to the people that He gave to Him. Jesus did everything according to His Father’s will, and restored them lovingly, for He never did anything without His Father’s full involvement in all that He said and did! These amazing facts about God our Father, His love and compassion, are foreign to all humans, men of the world, that are only aware of the gods that rule their mind, self, the flesh, under the influence of sin! Sin, the satanic venom, spurs them on! Like their dumb gods, men have no feelings, living in God’s world, they choose to shut Him out! What a very sad story! But a day is coming when all the pains and sorrows will disappear, in a new world when Jesus Christ is King, and the Love of God will be known all over the world, and all His glorified people will reign with him! Following all these wonderful days, I ask myself, how did His disciples really feel, when they saw Jesus and lived the fulfilment of what He said to them so often, that on the third day He would rise again from the dead, but at the time, their minds were shut to it, and, having seen Jesus Christ die, every hope they had of reigning with Him, died with Him.
