So, Jesus was in fact, declared publicly, by God, that He was His Son, this happened after He was baptised in water. As such He is Eternal, and existed long before John the Baptist did. Now it must be accepted that the true purpose of Christ’s ministry, is to raise up a new people, zealous of Good works. True Christians are not just a sect among so many others in the world, they are an entity completely outside of it all, a separated, chosen people, a new humanity, men born of God, born from above! Separated for a special mission while on earth, and, in God’s time she is destined to reign eternally with Jesus Christ! The apostle Paul was most probably the most zealous man that ever-served Jesus-Christ, writing to Titus one of his co-workers, says: ‘Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness, (or iniquity) and to purify for Himself a people (peculiar – eager and enthusiastic) that are His very own, eager to do what is good. As say the King James version… (zealous of good works) on fire, (Titus 2: 14) ‘He (Jesus – said John the Baptist) shall baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.’ (Matthew 3: 11)
There are many other verses in the Bible I could quote concerning this mighty outpouring, but the testimony of John the Baptist, as a prophet is really a bridge between the Old and the New Testament, and has a mighty input in the Gospel! For he adds a seal on the prophecies, prophesied by prophets of the Old Testament! I have quoted, especially that he actually saw Jesus, and baptised Him! He then testified what God told Him before he ever met Jesus, as to how he would recognise Jesus, His Son, when he would come to him. It followed that what he was told by God, happened to the letter, for we are told that Jesus, as a lamb of God, atoned for our sins, but that His work in a saint is only completed when He actually empowers a Christian, (all true Christians) with the Holy Spirit, to represent Jesus Christ, and serve Him in the world!
Having atoned for our sins, Jesus during the forty days that He was on earth after His resurrection, spent all that time to restore His disciples, and prepare them for work to which He called them originally, and proved to them, very clearly, that his real ministry only began, for He has left them on earth to continue what He began, and that, once there, H would send the Holy Spirit and baptise them to empower them just as He was! While on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to the lowest degree, and died as a worst of criminals, therefore God has exalted Him to the highest place, for it is written: ‘Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!’ (Philippians 2: 9-11)
Hence, the disciples after having seen Him go to heaven, from the Mount of Olives, went to Jerusalem as He commanded them to, where they had to wait until they were baptised with the Holy Spirit. They had no idea whatsoever what would happen, how it would happen, and when! But they were on the verge of a mighty revolution, after which they ‘committed’ themselves and obeyed the Lord’s command and waited for the fulfilment of the promise! Ten days after the Lord’s ascension was the next Feast on the Jewish calendar: ‘Pentecost,’ which I mentioned afore. Fifty days after the Passover feast, from much of the Roman Empire, every Jew, would try to be present in Jerusalem, as God commanded Moses: ‘On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.’ (Leviticus 23: 21) To Jerusalem they flocked by every means possible; but among them, for the first time in the history of Israel, in Jerusalem, were present representatives of a new nation, the disciples of Christ, not just the twelve, but many more, and they were there for a completely different reason, to wait for the fulfilment of a prophesy, prophesied, by the prophet Joel, eight centuries before!

My name is Edouard Jankowski and In September 1953 I landed on British soil. I was then nineteen years of age, and my destination was the I.B.T.I. (International Bible Training Institute) situated in Burgess-Hill, West Sussex. I did not realise when I arrived at the College, how my life was about to change for the better.
