I am continuing to answer the question: Who is Jesus? He is accepted generally that He is Jesus the son of one called Joseph, an unknown carpenter of Nazareth and Mary his wife! To most people of this generation, He is the leader of all Christians, a prophet in line with other religious founders. Nevertheless, to all true Christians He is ‘The Lord Jesus-Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Joseph was engaged to Mary, before their marriage he discovered that she was pregnant, thinking obviously that she had been unfaithful to him, he wanted to break up with her, but secretly, because he loved her and did not want to shame her! But one night, in a dream; an angel of the Lord appeared to him and said: “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy-Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name: ‘Jesus’, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21). Joseph being a godly man with spiritual insight, did what the angel said.

Thirty years later, God Himself, confirmed as to who Jesus was. It happened after He had been baptised in water by John the Baptist, in the river Jordan. It is written thus: “As soon as Jesus was baptised, He went out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened and John saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love, with Him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3: 16-17) On another occasion, Jesus took three of His disciples up a mountain, as I mentioned briefly in the previous Link, there he was transfigured in front of them, they never forgot this amazing revelation; it is written that: “Jesus took with Him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them, Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus…While He was still speaking a bright cloud enveloped them, (all five of them) and a voice from the cloud said.’ This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well please. Listen to Him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell face down to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. ‘Get up’ He said, ‘don’t be afraid’. When they looked up, they saw no-one except Jesus’. (Matthew 17 1-8) 

For three years, these twelve disciples lived with Jesus, daily they walked with Him everywhere He went, and heard Jesus speak publicly, they heard also many wonderful things when He spoke to them privately; so, they had ample time to learn a lot about their Master, Jesus of Nazareth! One day, as they were all together in the north of the country, in a roundabout way, Jesus wanted to search them out, to know what they thought of Him; He started by asking them who people thought He was, He asked:‘Who do people say the Son of man is?’ They replied. ‘Some say John the Baptist; others Elijah; and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. ‘But what about you’. He asked, ‘Who do you say I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in Heaven.” (Matthew 16:13-17) Man, in his present state, is unable to know anything about the real spiritual realm, therefore, I maintain, that to know anything about the true dimension in which God moves and lives, one has, to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit, who, according to the will of God, decides to reveal to a man who Jesus is. It all starts with Jesus. Who do you think Jesus is? Anyone that can say: ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Is truly blest! And yet, the Bible alone states forcibly who He is, since so many have not got a Bible, and that an immense lot of people do not respect it and shuts themselves from God, who reveals Himself in it, they will be lost forever, because they were not able or willing, to believe what the Bible, the Word of God says about Him and His Only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
